Camp Pictures and the Website

There are 132 pictures of summer camp now available for everyone in the troop for view, download or print, with more coming from Philmont as soon as someone lends me one of those CD's so I thought this would be a good time to send out some instructions for using the web site for everyone.

Troop 42 Update: Philmont

The date of return for the Philmont group has been changed from the 21st to the 20th.

Court of Honor, Bartle Info & Parent Meeting at Oakwood Baptist Church, 7pm.

 

RULES REGARDING CAMPOUTS: A MINIMUM of 4 registered adult leaders must sign up for any monthly campout activity by the Monday evening prior to any weekend campout, or the campout will be canceled immediately.

 

IMPORTANT:  It's very important to attend all meetings from now until Summer Camp. Vital information could be missed if meetings are missed.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Philmont 2007, June 7-21.

 

Bartle Summer Camp, July 9-18. I you can drive, please contact Mr. Dyer. In addition, please contact Mr. Swetnam with the following information: license number, make, year and model of the vehicle, the insurance company and limits of coverage....generally the typical policy has 100/300/100.

 

TROOP COMMITTEES: If you're interested in serving on a Troop committee contact Keith Martin or any current committee member. Parent involvement is vital if Troop 42 is to thrive.

Troop 42 meeting 5/21 (Philmont related)

Tonight's meeting will be Philmont related.
 
All of those participating in Philmont 2007 need to attend tonight's meeting.
All participating scouts need to also have at least one parent/guardian attend tonight's meeting.
Come prepared to make the final payment if you haven't already done so.
If you have questions, this may be the last chance to have them answered.

                        5:30 pm             Depart for Camp Naish

                        6:15 pm             Arrive and Setup Camp

                        7:30 pm                         Ordeal & Brotherhood Candidates at Campfire Area

                                                            Bring Backpack with listed items (attached)

                        8:00 pm             Pre-ordeal Ceremonies Begin

ALL SCOUTS SHOULD EAT BEFORE ARRIVING FOR THE CAMPOUT.

 

FOOD             All meals for the weekend  will be in the dining hall.  Crackerbarrels provided by the troop.

 

BRING:             Bring suitable clothing and footwear for a May campout.  Bring mess kit, sleeping bag and pad.  Bring changes of clothing you may get wet.  Bring all gear needed for Philmont Hike.  OA Candidates see attached list.

PARENTS:         We will need help transporting the boys to the campout and returning them home.  REMEMBER AT LEAST 4 ADULTS NEED TO BE ON EVERY CAMPOUT.

COST:             The cost will be $25.00 per person.  This includes the cost of the camping and food.

 

DIRECTIONS:  Theodore Naish Scout Reservation, between Bonner Springs and Edwardsville, Kansas. Take I-435 to K-32 turn west to 121st.  Turn north off Highway K-32 at 121st Street (look for "Camp Naish" sign on K-32) and proceed north on blacktop road for 1¼ miles to camp entrance on east side of road, then to central camp parking lot.

Philmont meeting will be on Monday May 21st at the scout meeting.  All participants and at least one parent should plan on being in atendance that night.
 
Make sure you are paid in full by then.

Troop 42: Physicals for Camp and Philmont (Thurs 4/19)

Subject: Physicals for Camp and Philmont
 
Physicals will be performed at Blue Springs Family Care 104 N 7 highway on Thursday April 19th from 6:00-8:00 PM. 
 
Cost: $10 cash checks to Dr. Mackey
 
What to bring:  Immunization/Vaccination Record,
                      Insurance card (for copying only),
                      Emergency contact information
 
Who:  All scouts and Adults going to philmont must be there that night or make arrangements otherwise with Dr. Mackey. Even if you have had a physical recently with your physicain, It will never hurt anyone to have another physical.  Only this form can turned in, and it needs to be completed, signed by both the parents and the scout and the copy of the insurance card all needs to be completed that night so these can be mailed back to Philmont as soon as possible. 
 
All other scouts (The only scouts that do not need physicals are 2nd or 3rd year scouts.  All 4th year and older will need a new physical this year) and Adults that are going to camp are also welcome that night.  There will be 3 doctors doing physicals. Dr. peterson, Dr. Mackey, and Dr. Gunn
 
Tetanus:  Holly Duboc from the Health Department will also be there and she will be administering (free of charge) a tetanus vaccination booster (Tdap) to all scouts and Adults who need one.  Please make sure to bring your Shot record with you.
