Click Here for Adventure in Scouting Webelos Transition Over 90% of all Boy Scouts were once Webelos Scouts. Preparing for the Webelos-to-Scout transition is very important at this time of year. Our challenge is to be sure that the transition to the next level of Scouting is a natural next step for a Webelos Scout and his family. Scout troops and Cub packs should work together to ensure that every Webelos Scout is prepared and looking forward to becoming a Boy Scout. By the time Webelos Scouts are ready to enter Boy Scouting, they and their families should be understand the program and be exciting about the possibilities. Webelos Transition Information New Advancement Requirements The National Youth Protection Committee of the Boy Scouts of America recommended additions to Boy Scout rank requirements that have been approved and will become effective January 1, 2008. These changes will help us advance the importance of Youth Protection training beyond the initial Boy Scout joining requirements. Read more about it in this issue of Adventures in Scouting Adventure In Scouting Freedom Foundation Youth Conference Youth Leadership Conference in February On February 14 - 17, 2008, the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge is offering a four-day, three-night conference specifically developed for youth members of the Boy Scouts of America who have demonstrated leadership potential. It is a time that we can pause to consider things that are taken for granted and review our priorities. It is also a time that many consider resolutions for the New Year. One resolution you should make is to review or establish your estate plan. More than half of all Americans have no plan. Of those that do have a will, many are outdated. Take time to take stock of what's important to you. Consider the places, people, and causes that you depend on and that depend on you. Think about the kind of legacy and impact you wish to have.
