There is a wealth of training opportunities designed to help everyone from the brand new leader to the experienced Scouter who is looking for some new ideas. Every new leader needs to take Fast Start Training, Youth Protection Training and Job Specific Training. Fast Start Training and Youth Protection Training are available online. Find the dates and locations for Job Specific Training, the course designed specifically for your Scouting role, by clicking the link below. | | Scholarships | | Kansas and the National Scout of the Year Awards The Veterans of Foreign Wars will recognize an Eagle Scout, Venture Silver Award recipient or Sea Scout Quartermaster who has risen above their peers as the Scout of the Year and award them a $5,000 scholarship. For more information visit www.vfw.org The Department of Kansas of the VFW will recognize a Kansas Eagle Scout , Venture Silver Award recipient, or Sea Scout Quartermaster as their Scout of the Year and award a $500 scholarship. The Scout Shop is located in the Heart of America Council's Service Center at 10210 Holmes Road. Effective September 4, Scout Shop Hours are: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 9 am. to 6 pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9 am. to 8 pm. Saturdays: 10 am. to 5 pm. | | Attend the Council-wide Learning Extravaganza! | | University of Scouting 2007 Plan to attend the University of Scouting on November 3, 2007. Make your own class schedule based on your interests. University of Scouting is an annual training event for Cub, Boy Scout and Venturing Leaders. It's a conference, convention and a fun-filled experience where you can improve your skills and knowledge.
