Dear Steve, This is an ENews Extra. We received a few items that just couldn't wait! Here is Your Chance to Be in Pictures! The Outdoor Channel, working with the National Boy Scout Council, is currently in production on a Scouting- related TV show. Scouting TV is about the adventure, the excitement and challenges faced by Scouts every day. Set to air in the spring of 2008, this show will highlight Scouts, Scouting values, and of course the fun we have. One of the features will be "Do One Daily" which will focus on a unit as they conduct a service project. This feature is the perfect opportunity for your Scouts to show all the great service they provide - all done in a home-movie style. Here's where your help is needed. They are looking for home video that may already exist. Or, if you are conducting a service project in the near future video tape it and you may appear on TV. If you have video that you would like to enter you have two things that you will need to do: Email me ASAP at rkidder@bsamail.org, we are working up against an August 17 deadline so please get in touch soon. Forward the tape or DVD to me, Randy Kidder at the council service center and so I can forward it to the National Office. (Let me know in your email if you need an address.)Be sure to include your unit number and contact information and be sure to send a copy that you are willing to part with in case they are unable to return it. This could be a really neat opportunity! Scout Night at Memorial Stadium Visit KU for Some College Football Fun! Make plans to attend Scout Night with the Kansas Jayhawks on September 1. The game starts at 6:00 p.m. All Scouts and Scouters in uniform may purchase a ticket for $5. You can purchase tickets at the gate or if you would like to purchase for your unit's tickets as group ahead of time call Chris Jones, Marketing Coordinator for University of Kansas Athletics at (785) 864-7976. The game will be the Kansas Jayhawks vs. Central Michigan. "Good Turn for America" - Making a Difference "Good Turn for America" is a nationwide effort to highlight the positive impact Scouting has on the community. This program provides a data collection site where units can document their service projects, the number of hours provided and how those hours have benefited others. It is important to note that this is a year-round opportunity for service and recognition. You can log on and report your service project(s) at anytime and print certificates to recognize your efforts. Visit the Good Turn for America Website!
